86 years ago. What does that have to do with me hating UT? Nothing.

I hope they lose big.

WOW! It doesn't have anything to do with you hating UT. I just feel like if Fugate can get a start at UT as a freshman surely he could play at UK, but they didn't make an offer to a Ky kid who most likely would have wanted to play there. Same with the Stocker kid from Berea, but look at what he did against UK last year. I hope Tn. wins this Saturday and I would like to see UT win on a last play touchdown score by Fugate when they play UK. They lead Ky kids on just to drop them for their pipeline to LaGrange, Ga. and I like to see Ky kids succeed no matter who they are playing for or against, even if it's beating the Ky powerhouse football team. :)

Im sure he could play at UK. Chris Lofton could have played at UK. Both werent offered by UK and both went to Tennessee. Great for them on getting a D1 scholarship. That doesnt change the fact that they went to the University of Tennessee.

You want to root for them no matter where they go, you have every right too. I will not. If both were at Mississippi State or Georgia or Vandy or wherever, I would hold the same mindset. But they dont go to school there. They go to UT and I cannot root for UT.

I would like to see UT win on a last play touchdown score by Fugate when they play UK.

We wont come to an agreement on this argument because of comments like this. I will not root against my university or state. Mr. Fugate decided that rival Tennessee was the place for him.

Then why not start a post about all the KY kids on UK's team and lets all root for them?

Fugate was never offered by UK, that is my point. Honestly, I really could care less, I just like it when true Ky kids do well no matter where they go, but I would like to see them do good at UK. I'm glad for the Ky kids that UK does have on their team, even if there are few. I owe no allegiance to UK, I didn't go to school there and they do not represent me even though I was born in Ky and live in Ky. As far as D1 football goes, I like the Bulldogs of Ga.

Few KY kids? According to yahoo's roster, there are 48 KY kids on UK. That's a whole lot of KY kids to root for.

The university doesnt represent you? It's the state's school.

So is Eastern Kentucky ---- that school represents me a lot more than UK, I am an alumni of EKU---- my son is getting to play football there and getting his school paid for while doing so. And, quite honestly, I don't really care one way or the other, I just get annoyed with die hard UK fans who think that if you don't constantly speak highly of UK you've committed an act of treason. Anyway, like I said before, I am happy for any KY kid that gets an opportunity to play ball at the next level. I wish them all well. However, I do not have to bleed blue to do it.:p:walk:

Eastern is definitely not the state's school/flagship university by any means. Outside of Madison County... no one really pays attention to them.

Be annoyed with me then.

38 of 112 on the roster are Ky kids. I wonder just how many of those are walk-ons.

48, not 38. Probably a majority.

He made some good blocks in the running game...made some big mistakes picking up the blitz. Not a bad first start. UT lost so all is well with the world.

ha ha

I saw one lead block where he cleared the way, but when he got up (he knocked back a way) he had a little stumble that said "this ain't Breathit Co anymore.

I think the last time beat UT was 1984 and it may have been in Knoxville.I previously stated I wanted Fugate to have a great career at UT.I still hope he does.I went to the same high school he did,he is a Ky boy UK didnt pursue. You cant blame the young man for wanting to play SEC football and going where a scholarship was given and he was wanted.I am a UK grad, had a cousin that played for the next to last team UK had to beat UT (1981 in Lex. and it may have been Fran Curcis last game as coach). It was a cold, icy day with slippery bleachers as I remember.I have friends that live in Lexington that are UT fans as well as a few neighbors scattered around here that are fans.I like to see UT lose if it benefits UK in some way but I dont despise them at all.I like for all Kentucky kids to do well if they get to play major college football. If players like Fugate succeed it can only help pave the road for other Ky kids to get the chance to major college football.
