Bardstown 26 Fort Knox 21

Featured Replies

Tigers build a 20-7 halftime lead, but saw Fort Knox rally back to take the lead 21-20 in the third quarter. Bardstown retook the lead on a Jordan Brewer TD pass to Anthony Myrks midway through the fourth.

Fort Knox tried to piece together a desperation drive with 1:22 left, going from their own 15 all the way down to the B'town 22, but two pass attempts into the EZ in the final seven seconds fell incomplete.

Brewer ran for 100 yards and a score, and threw a pair of TD passes in his return.

If any school in the state has played more exciting games this season than Fort Knox I'd like to see it. Too bad the Eagles haven't been able to get over the hump any. Seems like things are definitely improving for them, though.

I agree. They have definitely had a tough go the last couple of seasons.

Five of the Eagles' seven losses are by eight points or less. Definitely a hard-luck team.

Nice win for the Tigers on senior night. Several seniors played very well tonight, especially Keith Mattingly and Kameron Lackey on defense. Putting Whitfield in on defense as a two-way player appeared to payoff, Fort Knox had difficulty getting the edge. I also was very impressed with the offensive play-calling, adjusted very nicely to the defensive sets. Fort Knox is much, much improved. I don't think they will beat Glasgow, but the region may be a bit more evened up this season.

Fort Knox shot themselves in the foot too many times on Friday. They had a total of 8 plays on offense the first half. The defense would make stops but would make either bone head penalties (jump off sides or running into the punter) or turning the ball over during punt returns...which kept a lot of Bardstown drives going. Bardstown did do a heck of a jump throwing the ball around and they took away a lot of their perimeter game.

Fort Knox is 2-7 right now but is a much much better team then their record shows. Good luck to both teams next week.

Congratulations to Bardstown. They win a trip to Dragon Stadium the first round of the playoffs against Green County. A team that has really came together the last few weeks and playing really good football. I am glad to see Bardstown coming in due to not playing them in a few years. Will be an exciting game and can't wait till the playoffs begin.

Good Luck to Fort Knox as well. First round game against Glasgow is a tough one but anything could happen. Glasgow is very solid in all phases of the game. These District pairings is really tough with a possibility of 5 teams coming out on top to the Semi Finals. Could get interesting !!!
