I didn't see a thread up on this one yet, if I overlooked it then maybe a mod could combine.

This is usually a pretty competitive game but word on the street is that Paris is only dressing 15 kids. I feel bad for this once proud program but I don't see this one being close. Raceland by a lot.

I think alot of our JV players get in with about five or six minutes left in the second qtr. Giving our starters some rest for the following week. If all the starters play in the second qtr. It will be for practice working on things that need to be worked on!! JMO

But we always get the younger players in a game as soon as possible. And they will get lots of experience friday night.

35-0 halftime.

42-0 End of game

I feel sorry for the Paris program, they were winless last season and probably be winless this season. The administration at the school should be ashamed of themselves for doing the stuff they have done to this one proud program.

Our of respect for Paris I will not make a prediction, just wish both teams good luck.

I know the story with regards to the current Paris administration but you always state your thoughts so well, why don't you share it with those who are in the dark.

The Paris principal is the wife of the Paris band director and gives the band preferential treatment such as practice times. The principal apparently doesn't see an importance to athletics and seems to show it frequently. I have talked to several Paris parents and they have see the worst of this. I suppose Paris is now down to 15 players and have been steadily dropping over the last several years. I would say it would quite possible to see Paris drop football all together pretty soon. All of that from a program that used to be a state power and has a few State Championships (under the old alignment with it was a little harder).

I can certainly remember the Paris teams of years ago. Raceland first played them in 75' and each year was an absolute great, clean and hard hitting football from the opening kick to the last snap. Raceland imo first made a name for themselves in that first game, the Rams won a 2ot thriller over a top ranked Greyhound team. Paris was known as "Homer's Hounds" (in reference to legendary Paris coach Homer Goins) and had at least 2 consecutive State Championships during that time period and I am unsure if they had any others, I am thinking they did.

I went on too long again. I just love watching high school football and am saddened to see a great program and tradition like Paris be taken down so low. To make matters worse it seems to have been taken down by their own schools administration :madman:.

Good luck to Paris in taking your program back and hopefully rebuilding a once proud football tradition.

Thanks for doing this, Ram. You write it out much better than I can.

Raceland's Senior Meal will be easy for Mrs. Sidelinedoc this week. We are ordering from Chick-fil-A, entree, dessert and drinks. The Walking Warriors are raising money for the AVON Breast Cancer Walk in Charlotte, NC that takes place in October. Thursday night, Chick-fil-A is donating 10% of sales from 6-8pm to the cause. So, if you live in the Ashland area and you want to help out, come eat @ Chick-fil-A. :thumb:

Take care of business on the practice field so that you can take care of business on the game field Friday night. :taz::taz::taz:
