CLock running one play into the second half after an 82 yard Alex Lange TD run from the QB spot.

Jumpers take care of business get ready for next week.

Somerset was just too much for Casey County in all phases of the game tonight. The Rebels looked intimidated from the opening kickoff. It was 42-0 at the half. The starting offensive unit, except for the quarterback scored on the opening drive of the second half and the JVs tacked on a couple more. Alex Lange's run was a 92 yard run. He ended up with something like 160 yards on 5 carries playing runningback and quarterback. Solid win for Somerset.

Somerset keeps rollig, guess all the critics about the O-line can shut their mouths now :)

This question is more about who finishes second in the district, but was Casey County not very fleet-of-foot? I ask because after seeing Garrard County and Wayne County, I'm curious as to how they will stack up with the Rebels. Obviously Somerset is the overwhelming favorite, but it should be a nice race to host a playoff game.

Dominating defensive performance, way to go men and good job to you Snappy!!!!

They weren't very fast. They had some big, strong kids but I only saw a couple of players that looked like they had any breakaway speed. Their offensive scheme leaves a lot to be desired. A lot of power formation, second man through stuff. I think they only had 2 pass plays. The plays were just too slow developing and they couldn't cope with Somerset's speed up front.

I am curious to see where Somerset goes next year as far as redistricting. They are too strong for the district they are in.

Well in truth they should be down in 2A. So they are actually "challenging" themselves by playing up, although they haven't gotten much challenge from their district brethren over the last few years.

Rumor has it that Somerset may be joining a district with the likes of Green County, Glasgow, Metcalfe County. What are your thoughts on this type of district?

Somerset has played Green County the last 2 years in JV and has beaten them soundly. I can't see Metcalfe County making a run, I haven't seen Glasgow since the current juniors were in middle school but Somerset beat a Corbin team twice that handled Glagow without a problem. I'd see Somerset as the favorite in that district next season.

Even though Somerset is the smallest team in the district they should leave 3A with a district record of 21-1 since 2007. Of course, that may be the worst district in the lower 3 classes in the state.

What is your definition of soundly? I am certain that this years JV game was 20-14. I will also say that Green Co. plays alot of players (especially younger) on Varsity and many times doesn't let them play JV so I wouldn't claim yourself District champs yet. Glasgow is another program that is back to its prominence and will continue to field really good teams under Coach Woods. In my opionion, this district would be much tougher for Somerset. Trust me, these aren't teams like Taylor, Wayne, Jackson, and Casey you are playing now.
