Kentucky Country Day is ranked #10 in this week's BGP 1A Poll.

 

The Bearcats are 4-0 against teams with a combined record of 4-7 (excluding the four losses to KCD).

 

The marquee win was last week's 27-7 thumping of 2A Carroll County.

 

KCD owns wins over winless Paris and Atherton.

 

They are playing bad non-district opponents but to their credit are handling them easy.

 

Is KCD worthy of the top 10 ranking? Can they be a postseason factor?

I'm not sure KCD is top ten, but I'm also not sure who you would put ahead of them. I can't imagine them beating Holy Cross, but their matchup with Bethlehem should be good to determine who finishes second. If they do finish 2nd, they'll likely get Ballard Memorial in the first round - home game, but tough game. If they win (and that's a big if), they'll go to Mayfield in the second round and it will be all over.

 

No problem with them being ranked where they are right now.

KCD is a veteran team with the some skills. They look like a very reasonable pick at this slot.

The Fort Knox game this week will tell us something ... Fort Knox has close losses to Bethlehem and Fort Campbell.
