Bengals Cuts...

Nelson his rookie year when he had his best year, was used mainly at safety the whole time. The last two years they been using him as a corner some, and even started him some at corner. So yes his coverage skills at corner may not be that good, however he will be only a safety here, which is where he is best suited at. I like the move, especially since David Jones probably would not have played much anyways.

So you like him at safety despite people saying his tackling skills are lacking? Isn't that one of the main jobs of a safety?

Yes I do like him at safety. He will be a backup safety here, you act like all teams are suppose to have studs at backups or something. He is coming here to be a backup and provide depth. We now have a backup with 30 or 40 games experience as a starter. Its about having depth and he gives us that, and we are getting that for a guy in Jones who was not going to play much at all. So yes IMO I think it was a very good move, and move that they need to make because we didn't have much depth at safety.

I lot of Bears fans liked what they saw from LeFevour, another side of the argument is that he looked good against backups. Bears were going to sign him to the practice squad, but that is no more. Cutler is still young, so he probably wouldn't have gotten a chance to play anyway. Hope he does well in Cincinnati.
