Kenwood (TN) 52 Fort Campbell 34

Featured Replies

Fort Campbell beat Kenwood 57-0 last year.

FC needs to get healthy....IMO they will be fine come District time!!!!

Oh my, FC couldn't find a player that wanted to make a tackle - almost a complete refusal by some to play tackle football. I have been around FC football for only 10 short years and have watched many great wins and a few disappointing losses. I can't recall any team hanging 50 plus on Fort Campbell. (The scary thing is that Kenwood is not a good football program, they probably won't even finish with a winning record)

This game was an embarrassment to the FC legacy. Not the loss - taking a loss is part of the game, but the overall lack of fight, pride, fortitude or team character.

This loss is not about injured players like Tre Powell not being available, which is one of the excuses we used in the loss to CPA. It is about team character or the lack there of.

Fort Campbell gave up 52 to Warren East in the second game of the 2007 season. They won the next 13 games, including the state title

It is late, that one did slip my mind. You are correct as usual.

I agree with everything Falcon Backer said.

I'm NOT in any way, shape, or form comparing this team to any of the teams in recent memory, but.....there was something lacking. Too many first contact tackles missed, forcing other teammates to cover some ground and get to the ball carrier. We know the swagger is there, but it's not doing any good. When boys are more concerned with how they look on the field than what's actually happening on the field, it's time to wake up. I'm 100% confident that Coach Berner and his staff can corral the individuals and make them team players. The boys really need to come together off of the field to make this a cohesive unit on the field.

I would like to single out one player on the Falcons.....TJ Tucker, that kick played with AMAZING heart. He got beat up the entire game and kept coming back. Chance Von Dette has the best punting foot I've seen on a Fort Campbell player in a LONG time.......but historically, Fort Campbell doesn't punt, they ram it down your throats and score points.

Boys, if you're reading this (and I'm pretty sure you are), keep your heads up.....the season is NOT over, but you need to keep your heads and hearts in the game and play football. Falcon Nation is proud of you.

Later.

Coach Berner hasn't been pleased with what he has seen in practice. Apparently, it is spilling over to Friday nights

Not good in Falcon country! These young boys have big shoes to fill.

You can't just put the uniform on and expect to win. Danville found that out last season. Hopefully Fort Campbell can right their ails. I have no doubt Berner and Co. will have this team playing better soon.

There isn’t much else to say that hasn’t already been mentioned. I agree with Bill, there seems to be something missing. They seem to be lacking the fundamentals: tackling, blocking, and execution. Kenwood dominated the line on both sides of the ball and ran at will often breaking multiple tackles.
