Yeah, if it wasn't for Sage Powell holding Peterson he would have had a lot more yards. I was at the game tonight and if Holmes had more time to throw the ball they could have scored as much as they wanted. SK could not cover him. If SK doesn't do something about their corners it's going to be a long season. Also, as good as their O line looked last week I thought they looked just as bad tonight. Crane had some nice runs but he was getting hit in the backfield most of the night. Lawrence had a great game, both passing and running. Tressel, you are 100% correct about Lawrence being the key to SK's success this year. With Crane running and Lawrence running and throwing, SK will score a lot of points this year but their D has to shut down the passing to win games. I watched both preseason games and they have yet to cover receivers. They have their work cut out for them the next couple of weeks as I think Middletown and Dixie will air the ball out on them. And on a side note, Peterson is the real deal for Holmes. He had a monster night in a losing effort against a pretty good football team.

Tonight shows there are three really good teams in Northern Kentucky....Highlands, SK, and Ryle. Others will have lofty records like Holmes, Beechwood, etc, but when it all comes down I think only one team wins it all this year, and you know who that will be......

 

I think you may be correct. I have yet to see SK, play or practice but HHS is top dog, and Ryle will play them this week so we'll see how they stack up. I/We all know that SK had to replace the "hogs" up front but the skills are there and their defense should be solid. If the line can hold up, I have faith because #6 is a player. He may not be 6'5" but he's a difference maker, when the ball is in his hands all things are possible, he just needs to have some time.
