Proving Brandon Phillips' comments correct for at least one Cardinal player, instead of addressing the question he took the opportunity to whine more about Reds pitcher, Johnny Cueto. Carpenter says, "If you did that on the street, he would end up being…That’s serious stuff.” Really Chrissy? Did you learn this growing up on the tough streets of Exeter, New Hampshire? Playing ball in a small town where the median family income is over $63 thousand? Wow, Chrissy, you must've had a rough childhood. I agree he's a baby, he's a sissy, and he was the one who turned the whole thing into a melee by running his mouth, when cooler heads had seemingly prevailed. BUT, surely no one reads these comments and thinks Carpenter is acting like a street tough. What he's saying is simply if Cueto kicks a guy in the face with metal spikes. on the street, he goes to jail. And, he's right. If you kick the crud out of some dude in a fight while wearing metal spikes, your assault charge is probably felonous.

Cueto was out of line, but the reality is he was the last guy out of the Reds dugout, and got caught in the mass of humanity push created by Carpenter mouthing off to Dusty. I have had a lot of fun on here with the situation and the aftermath, but Carpenter has done more than enough to be made fun of ten fold based on his actions over and over again. This was just the icing on the cake with his comments to the media for days after it was over and done...

August 16, 201016 yr Any thoughts on the Denver Post article???I'm not defending Carpenter at all, except to say he's a heck of a pitcher. And I've said nothing about the Brandon Phillips comments ... as far as I'm concerned, they're both way too much ado about nothing.
