The judge cited Hines v Davidowitz in her ruling and said the SC in 1941 ruled that the proposed "alien registration" law was "burdensome" on legal aliens. She also cited situations where lawfully-present non-citizens would NOT have sufficient documentation on them that would satisfy the AZ law. Thoughts?

I haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn Express lately, but I don't see how any of that overrides current U.S. law as directly quoted in post 25.

There must be something else that we're not aware of that overrides that. If not, why would a)we be having this debate and b)AZ craft a new law?
August 2, 201016 yr How quickly we forget that this isn't the first time Arizona rocked the boat. Remember back in '93 when they refused to honor MLK Jr's birthday as a national holiday? If I remember the Super Bowl was supposed to be in Arizona but Paul Tagliabue moved it because of their refusal to honor MLK.
