July 1, 201016 yr I am over here in Hamburg Germany for the FIBA games, as Team Liaison, as well as for Serbia. Games start Friday with UK's Gilchrist and Teague on the USA team. I'll try and post some pics soon. Team USA lost to Russia's 18U last weekend in an exhibition, but they defeated Lithuanian 92-79 a couple of days later in their last exhibition before the start of the tourney.

July 1, 201016 yr Care to check out Team Canada and report back on a few kids for me SG??? I don't get paid to do it, and I'm not a scout or a cross checker by any means. But just from a casual observation, the Kobango kid on the U18 team looked nice. Texas is getting one right there.

Kobango is big time. One kid on that 17 Canada team I like a bunch is Negas Webster-Chan who is going to be at Huntington Prep next year, so you might be able to check him out. The other I've heard a lot of good things about, but have yet to see in person is PG Kevin Pangos...

Seems like he has a lot of toughness about him, and I like that in a point guard. Real heady as well. I've heard about Webster-Chan but haven't got the chance to see much film on him or anything. One things for sure though, they're starting to get it going at Huntington Prep and Mountain State Academy. If they can keep bringing in quality kids like this they are going to stay on the national stage. It's going to be tough to unseat what programs like Findlay and Oak Hill are doing, but they're putting in the work to build some good programs up in WV right now.

Saw Webster-Chan go toe to toe with 2012 5 star Gary Harris in Akron. He obviously wasn't as polished as Harris all around, but he had the better game in that match up. He'll be a nice high major recruit for 2012...
July 1, 201016 yr Author I've been looking forward to it. Games will more than likely be airing in the morning here in the US correct? Around 10:00 or 10:30 maybe? First game is Friday at 9 AM, 3AM eastern time, and it's Lithuania Vs China, Lithuania has two bigs that looked good in the brief time I seen them practice, numbers 14 and 15. My main team Serbia plays Egypt at 11:15 AM, 5:15 AM eastern time, I should be on the end of the bench on that one. The USA plays Argentina at 1:30 PM, 7:30 AM eastern.

Gotcha. :thumb: Team USA was the only team I care to watch, especially in the morning like that. I'll probably be checking the FIBA website to stay updated on game times but if you can keep reminding me about US game times I will certainly appreciate it. I have a world clock time converter, but if you know what the times are in Eastern Standard then that is a big help. Have fun, and enjoy your trip, should be a nice experience. And on another note, have you been around the players that much, heard any good chatter going around? Is Teague and Gilchrist putting UK in anybody elses ear while they are over there?

Of course that is all speculation on my part. Do you know who all is courting him the most? The beauty of recruiting sometimes is getting on a kid early enough and showing him love before anyone else. Then when he blossoms out a lot of times he'll stay true to the school who was there from the get go.

I know UC is interested, but haven't checked in with the coach at Huntington Prep in a while to see what's going on. I'll get back into hoops mode next week as the eval period opens and will have a better handle on it then. Huggs is really tight with the Huntington Prep coach, so I'm sure they are keeping close tabs as well..,.
