They're animals. Unless they're endangered they are no more important than the big mac I had for dinner. Oh Yeah, I said it.

I don't support the abuse or hunting of dolphins. Don't know how I feel about whaling. I think it's outrageous to suggest that dolphins deserve to be a protected class. I suppose if they all disappear, along with the mice, and leave us messages of gratitude for the fish, I'll be carrying my towel and trying to learn to love Vogon poetry.

It's not outlandish to question those levels. It's just friggin' goofy to grant them a bill of rights.
