Want to know, certainly. Able to find out? That may be an entirely different matter. In the situation with my brother, last I heard, he was living in Albuquerque, NM, and was financially secure. Could he be living desolate in KY now? Certainly, but I do not have a way of knowing. My address hasn't changed, nor has my phone number, my place of work, etc. He has made no effort to contact me (or my other siblings), though he would be welcomed with open arms.

I have a sister who I haven't talked to in about 6 years. She lives in St. Louis. I really don't care if I ever hear from her again. There are other family members I haven't talked to in about 30 years. I also will never ever deal with them again. So this premise of just because they are family they should be helped I don't agree with.
