Ok Google search masters or those with a few gray hairs!

 

I'm going nuts trying to remember who all was on that Championship team roster in 1977.

 

I know 1st round NBA pick Jeff Lamp, also Lee Raker. I believe Jerry Eaves was a freshman or sophomore but cannot remember who else was there.

 

Any trivia nuts out there that can help?

The only other two I can remember on Ballard was: Miller & Jeffries

yeah your right.

Wish I could remember the big center? Ended up going to Washington & Lee or William and Mary ?

There was a center named Terry Gates who I think was on that team. I think he also went to UVA with Lamp and Raker.

Terry Gates. You got it. I moved from Ballard to UVA at the same time and think Gates did in fact go to UVA also.

Pretty amazing when you look at it that there were 3 future NBA players on that one team.

Eaves, Lamp and Raker were named to the All Tourney team. Lamp led the tourney with 119 pts and a high game of 43 points. I don't believe they named a MVP then.

Terry Gates was not on the 1977 championship team. He graduated in 1976.

 

Jeff Lamp, Lee Raker, Jerry Eaves, Curtis Jeffries, Norman Miller, and John Siler were the first six on that team.
