Bishop Brossart 2010

Featured Replies

I would definitly say the schedule is harder this year than it was last year. Although I would also say that they should be better as a TEAM this year also. What they can do in conference this year should give a good barometer of how much better they have gotten.

I don't know how anyone can say the schedule Brossart is playing this year, is any harder than last year. Their non-conference schedule is full of teams that aren't state powerhouses, which I can understand. Obviously the teams in their district lost a lot to graduation, but they're still the same teams minus key players. So, how is it harder?

MACLA, I don't know if you have seen the upcoming schedule for the Mustangs in 2010, but I would agree with aptr about the schedule being more difficult. Playing Cov. Holy Cross and Eminence this year is a step up in competition if you judge based on their records from last season. Those teams had better records than Bracken Co and Jenkins, whom were on last year's schedule for the Mustangs. Both teams were playoff teams that won games in last year's playoffs. That does give some indication to the competition being more difficult. I hope this helps clear up confusion

Agreed! Those two teams are a step up from last year.

MACLA all you have to do is look at the 5 out of conference teams this year and match them up against last years teams and it's not a contest. Just because Mayfield or LCA isn't on their schedule doesn't mean it's weaker. As for the mustangs they have about 40 players at practice which is up and a good number. The freshman class is 14 strong and showing that the middle school team is helping already. That group is full of great young men and even better football players. The future looks bright in Alexandria.

I'll give you Holy Cross, that's a pretty solid opponent. I didn't see them on the schedule, but i'm sure I overlooked them. While Eminence may have been a playoff team last year, they did graduate a bunch of their players. Don't know the last time you've been to Henry County to watch football, but when you graduate more than five players at Eminence, you're in a bad shape. With that said, I can't see Eminence being a more "difficult" opponent, but I've never seen Jenkins or Bracken County play.

I saw all these teams last year and Eminence was the better of these teams. Will it be that way this year, we will see.
