Understatement to say the least. Game was a home game for CovCath at Highland Park due to game being moved. HHS goes up 2 to 0, then CC gets 6 in the bottom of 1st with 1 infield hit. Walks, hit battsmen, you name it. CovCath had control of the game and appeared to be ready for another win, when SS for CovCath drops a routine flyball with 2 outs I think in the top of 6th or so. That led to a 5 or 6 run inning after that putting the Birds ahead maybe 11 to 9. Highlands takes the lead and piles it on in the top of 7 to secure the win. Lots of learning to be had by both teams. Good looking athletes on both teams. :thumb:

Wow. Left when it was 8-3 CCH and things looked bleak for HHS. Never say die attitude with the new Frosh team. Down 4-5 8th graders who were on a class trip to Washington DC, but had many of the Frosh who've played JV much of the year. Good trade for the Baby Birds. 2 7th graders had pitched for HHS when I left.

 

Depending on which kids show up and how the arms fare, they could make some noise in the Regional Tourney.

No big suprise here imo. This is a first ever Frosh program that has to start somewhere and the Baby Birds did just fine this yr against much, much more experienced programs. I like the Birds future in baseball. Of course that is only if the Big Blue Koolaid Jug runs dry. And by the looks of things its only half full. :thumb:
