It was a foul but they aren't going to call that right now with the West playoff seeding as it is. Only guys like Kobe, LeBron or DWade are going to get that call IMO.

^ Usually that would be true but that was just an awful no call. I mean it was clearly a foul.

That's what's wrong with the NBA. Apparently the name on the jersey dictates whether or not a foul is called.

And that is why casual fans see the NBA as a complete joke. I agree w/ them if you're right by the way.

I agree. Doesn't change the fact that they weren't going to call it though. Should have been a foul but starting next year Durant will start to get some calls.

I don't think that its the biggest problem with the NBA (scrubs like Eddy Curry making 15 mil per season is) but it happens. Just watch Dwight Howard or Chris Paul for an entire game. LeBron will have games where he only has 1 foul called on him.

Maybe so. I think the NFL and MLB would be the same way, you just can't really give a superstar a call in those sports as easily because of the nature of those games. Durant is a star but in the NBA you have to earn calls at the end of the games for some reason. Seems like players get the shaft until they perform in the playoffs. Next year Durant will get all kinds of calls and people will be sick of it.

A player has to earn the right to have a foul called? Pretty sure it is a written rule in the league, and doesn't state a player must earn it.

Did I say it was written? That's just how the league has been lately. Did I say I agreed with it...I don't think so. But if you don't think stars get the calls in the NBA you're lying to yourself. Young guys don't get them, they just don't. You asked if it was a foul and I gave my opinion to why it wasn't called.

I guess it's possible the refs just missed the call, but I personally don't think anything short of a tackle would not have been called last night on the road with huge playoff implications on the line. I really don't see what was funny about what I said. :idunno:

I'd say the fact that Durant leads the NBA in FTA makes you wrong on this one Cats. It wasn't because of who he was, it was home-cooking. Plain and simple.

It was just a missed call or home cooking. Nothing to do with who it was.

How many FT does he have at the end of games? Are you telling me that if that was Kobe, LeBron or DWade that wouldn't have been called? Are you kidding me? Do you just read what you want to read UKMF? Did I say that Durant never gets to the foul line? :idunno:

Kobe doesn't get a call there?

You said he'll start getting all the calls next season, did you not? Well, according to the stats, he gets more calls than anyone else does this season. No, I don't think they would have. Like HT said, either they missed it completely or they had their minds up that they weren't blowing the whistle no matter what transpired. Who it was, or wasn't, had no bearing on the call IMO.
