A back and forth battle but the Colonels come out on top. Nick West went 4 innings for the cougars giving up three runs. Warning pitched very well for the Colonels. Shumate pitched an inning and someone else, not sure who. Pugh had two homeruns. Siemer had a homerun. Not sure of any other stats. I'm sure TOG will have some :thumb:

Long day of watching some great baseball, then took the Boss out to dinner @ PeeWee's Place.

What started out as a beautiful day turned into a extremely windy, day with gust I am guessing as high as 35/40 mph, but those gust surely didn't help Austin Pugh with two huge blasts over the center field fence today nor did it help Logan Siemer and Mattie Kleins HR this morning either. Even without the wind, all four HR would have been round trippers.

Offensive play of the day brought to you by PeeWee's Place:

In the CovCath top half of the eight, with the scored tied six to six, CovCath scored two runs on a base hit by Warning, a U-9 by Klein one out: U-8 by Gerwe for the second out. Stayton hits a double to score Warning, Maile walks and Martin doubles to knock in Stayton to give CovCath a 8-6 lead.

The Defensive play of the game brought to you by BAWAC Inc.

My pick would be Adam Warning not so much for one defensive play, but for doing such a good job of staying in the game and throwing 111 pitches and keeping his team in the game.

CovCath pitching:

Adam Warning 111 pitches 6 innings 27 PA 5 hits 6 runs 4 earned runs 2 walks 5 K's and 2 HR

Adam Shumate 8 pitches 1 inning 5 PA 2 hits 0 runs 0 earned runs 1 walk (IW) Win 1

Mattie Klein 1 22 pitches 1 inning 5 PA 1 hit 0 runs 0 earned runs 1 walk 1 K

CovCath hitting:

Siemer 5 PA 1 run scored 2 hits HR (360 #1) and 1 rbi

Warning 5 PA 2 runs scored 1 hit 1 K 1 HPB and 1 sb

Klein 5 PA 2 runs scored 2 hits HR (360 #1)1 rbi 1 walk 1 k and 1 sb

Nieaber CR

Gerwe 5 PA 1 hit 1 rbi 1 walk 1 K 1 and sb

Stayton 5 PA 2 runs scored 1 hit and 2 rbi's

Maile 5 PA 2 walks and 1 k

Taylor PR

Martin 5 PA 1 run 2 hits doubles 2 rbi's 1 walk and 1 HBP

Schlagbaum 3 PA 1 hit 1 hbp and fc

Armor PR and 1 cs

Grosser 1 PA 1 sac bunt

Shumate 1 PA

Severson 4 PA 1 hit double 1 walk 1 K and sac bunt

Fun game to watch and even in the windy conditions it was a well played game. Far too long of a day to post anything else!

Got to take care of your friends from time to time! :D

If you haven't been there, it really is a great place to eat and enjoy yourself. Took my wife, daughter and her fiancee there last week for dinner and I had to know half the people in the place. It was a very, very nice evening for all of us!

So Warning throws 111 pitches? Yikes.

What's the deal with Shumate? Is he strictly a reliever?

4 games so far. #1 Gerwe throws two games due to the number of day's between outing. #2 Warning throws one game and yes I had 111 pitches and have re added and re added them and they still come up to 111.

Brueggman IMO gets rewarded and thus his one start for pitching so well in his two innings against Cov Holy Cross, in CovCath first game of the year!

1st 23 / 2nd 10 = 33 / 3rd 12 =45 / 4th 29 =74 / 5th 8 =82 6th 15 =97 7th 14 =111
