I could live with that. The part in bold is already going on now, or at least they're seeing to it they're getting educated.

Heaven help me for saying this...but why is education different than healthcare? Why should the child of the parent that doesn't care about education not have the possibility of being educated?

Abolishing the NEA and the DOA would be the best place to start improving our educational system...

It is not an extreme. It is an example of a problem of parents not supporting their child's education either by not making their child do homework or doing it for them, not holding their child responsible for their bad behavior that is stopping their child's education as well as all the other student's education that is in their child's class, not making their child simply come to school, etc, etc.

 

Is it the only problem, NO!

Is it one of the main problems, YES!

It is simpler. Those that value education in their home, their children get a good education. Those that do not, their children do not. And yet both children went to the same school.

I wouldn't repeal the tax payer funded, I would just allow the voucher system.

an idea whose time has come . I see these school districts keep on asking for more and more taxpayers money and continually presenting new tax levys after the voters have rejected the previous ones . Start charging tuition and make sports pay to play and still make attendance mandantory .

 

Attendance is not mandatory. Parents can choose to home school their child.

 

I would have no problem making sports pay to play BUT from my understanding, if a child is on free lunch, they cannot be charged to play.

 

I used to be a sponsor of a club and wanted to have each child pay a class fee and every child became a member DECA that marched in lockstep with the marketing classes.

 

Those on free lunch could not be charged the fee that covered the DECA dues.

 

I would assume that athletics would be very similar to that.

 

That said, I wouldn't be opposed to taking sports out of the schools totally and make them community teams that do not have a direct tie to the school.
