futurecoach Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 The same organization that is trying to put an alumni game together for Highlands vs. CovCath is doing the same thing for Ludlow vs. Bellevue. I for one think this is a great idea, and I think as long as the word gets out that both teams would have plenty of people who would want to play. Its a chance for people to play one last game, and to do it against a rival school. Spread the word and go to the link below to sign up. Its says Louisville, but this game would be up here in NKY just like the Highlands vs. CovCath game would be. http://kentuckyalumnifootball.eventbrite.com/
TAC Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I never knew Ludlow and Bellevue were that much of a rival? I'd pay to watch the Tigers take on the Green devils though!

Oh they are a big rival. All three of those river schools are big rivals. Dayton vs. Bellevue is only a tad more of a rival, just because of them being right next to each other. Trust me though these two teams have been a big and good rivalry, with really neither team not liking each other. Actually as we ween on here, doesn't seem like the fans like each other either haha.
Qryche11 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Dayton is a bigger rival no doubt though. Oldest rival in KY HS history from what I understand.

They are the bigger rival. However Ludlow is a big rival of both those schools too. Those two are just a little bigger because how they live right next to each other. :thumb:
sportsnut859 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Good luck getting enough players together from either side.
futurecoach Posted March 12, 2010 Author Posted March 12, 2010 Good luck getting enough players together from either side. Already know of 8 people for Ludlow that would, and I just started spreading the word about it. I don't think it would be a problem for Ludlow at all. It could be for Bellevue though.
Qryche11 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Im sure you could find plenty of former Tigers. Trust me I see plenty that still hit it hard at Urban Active in Bellevue and you could pull a few from 1990 State Final team and they would still lay some licks on the younger guys.

Some can't afford the chance of getting hurt and missing work, other have kids and just can't give the time to practice and other things. I hope I'm wrong and I can go watch you all take on the Tigers again, but I just don't see it happening for a host of reasons.

I am pretty positive that a long as the word spreads, that Ludlow would get enough. In basically just two hours last night after they added it on their list of games, I talked about 8 guys and every single one of them not only said they would but was very excited about it. There are a lot more people that I know, that I am pretty confident that would love to play. Keep in mind that as long as the player has graduated, they can play in the game. So I am pretty sure even the seniors who are graduating this year, would be able to play since the game would be at the end of June. I will look more into it, but I am pretty sure that is what I read. So I think its very possible that it could happen, as long as the word gets spread. However it does take two teams for it to happen, so both teams would have to get enough and your right that could be hard. From qryche's post though, he seems to think that plenty of Bellevue kids would. Its just comes down to the word getting passed around to people.

How about some old timers from Ludlow: Jim Lokesak, the Doersam and Caple brothers, Gary Wooley, the Wheatley boys, David Lokesak, Wainscott, Jeff Sexton, Mills, Allen Terry, Rod Alford, Jack Glick, D. Miller, Cox, Malone, Dave and Dwayne York, & Steve Trammel? OH BOY! :ohbrother: Call it the AARP Team! :isurrender: Bellevue: The Sprague brothers, D. West, Fessler, Hurt, Durso, McGurn, Gary G. and the Sutkamp boys just to name a few!!
TAC Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Please refer to the 1986 movie featuring Robin Williams and Snake Plissken (sorry meant to say Kurt Russell) "Best of Times" Is this what these games are all about ?

TR23 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Delaney, Montgomery, and Berkley the big three from the 1999-2000 teams from Bellevue would be fun to watch again too.
