With the games being at the arena I think that more casual fans are attending since they don't have to deal with "split" sessions and knees in the back , etc. I would guess that records for 13th region attendence will be set today for the boys games...they should be dandys.

FYI: In the first year at the BOKC the Ninth did the same thing and had the same problem of fans sitting in others reserved seats! This year all the tickets are being sold as "General Admission" ($6.00 in advance $8.00 at the door) and I have not heard one single complaint about seating this year.

 

Now after commenting above, I am waiting to see what happens this evening, when I think there will be the largest HS crowd in the History of the Ninth Region Tournament attending these two games!

 

 

Understood. I would have no problem with general admission seating if that's what the tickets I bought were for.

 

However, it seems like some type of false advertisement to sell a reserved seat and then have the arena do nothing to enforce the reservation (and even go so far as to deny someone their request to sit in the seat they've bought).

At first I did not like the idea of having it at The Arena. The first night of girl's games added to my initial opinion. After experiencing the balance of the tournament, I think has ended up being a great move. NL and The Arena officials have done a bang up job hosting this tournament. I don't see why anyone would want to move it away from this venue.

 

I think this venue makes the tournament feel like a much bigger event. It is definately a treat for the players. I don't think there is any way that there will be a 66% vote to move it away.

I think if a school can host it, they should be allowed to host it. I don't think anybody should be force fed "The Arena." I think its a nice place, but thats my opinion. If I were a casual fan and wanted to see the regional tournament, I would travel to anyplace in the region, as I have done the last 10 years. And, If it's at "The Arena" I will still go. IMO, if HC wants it when its their time they should be able to host it.
