Well If they beat Gallatin in the All A and win the all A championship, and maybe win 2 or 3 down state, thats 4 or 5 victories. They should have swept the district and the conference. They lost twice to Walton, once to Henry, and three times to Gallatin. Take 5 out of 6 of those games and you get your 25. (hypothetically speaking) :thumb:

 

Don't forget BCB, when they played Gallatin they never had the best player on the floor.

I find it interesting that Owen County had two players make the All Region team. With a 15-10 record they have probably under achieved.

Seriously, I would say that them playing the young guards so many minutes + injuries (I know the one senior guard, Kelly, missed a lot of time, and I heard that Jordan Shelton has had feet problems?) have impeded that win total a bit. But, I am sure Coach Duvall and the Rebels agree with your basic premise that they still should have more than 15 wins this year...we'll see if they can add onto that win total Thursday.

 

And I know that other teams (like Gallatin) had young guards, too....but perhaps they went into the year expecting that, and OC didnt? I dont know. I wasnt trying to make excuses for them, just that there may be a reason they fell a couple of games short of the total # of wins. Coach Jones has GC playing well and contending for All A and district crowns most years whether they are young teams or veteran teams.

Owen is good up front, but their guards can't handle pressure. In the GC game I thought GC ended up beating them because OC couldnt handle pressure. I have seen them numerous times this yer and when the other team can't or don't pressure them OC wins..

I agree with Papa. Owens' guards didn't like pressure throughout the season and SK will run two guys at them the entire game to force turnovers before the big guys can score it in the paint. On the other hand, SK has no answer for the size of Owen. Either the SK pressure or the size of Owen wins the game.

Well said. The gurads in post season will be the difference for a lot of teams and SK has the advantage at guard play.
