I love Romans, one mistake a small one..he was still Saul when he met Jesus and Saul had gotten a written document which he got from the Roman government that allowed him to go and bring back Christians and have a trial, which would end up with their Death. Saul was really well known to have great teaching/knowledge of the Jewish teachings, and maybe why he was chosen by Jesus, what a great 360.

Romans 13 Submission to the Authorities 1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. 5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. 7Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

I think you have to study Scripture in it's entirety to understand Scripture. If I post chapter at a time, wait for rebuttal, we may not be getting the full picture that Paul is writing to the Roman church about. Some good stuff in here and anxiously awaiting the discussion on it.

AL, am I right in saying that Paul was the author of over 1/2 of the books of the NT?

Its written more of a form of someone preaching Hebrews to folks. You have done an outstanding job to the site of your study you have shared with us. I love Romans and will try to break down some of it. I feel the "Roman Road " is so important.

I love Romans and will try to break down some of it. I feel the "Roman Road " is so important. There's support for both sides of the argument on Hebrews. But, ultimately, whether Paul did or didn't write the book is of little concern to me. I think some scholars make way too big a deal about authorship in certain instances.

Ususally I don't mention it either because "All scripture is God Breathed". I didn't mean anything by it...I didn't get the impression it was a big deal to you. But, I've read a little about it and for some people, whether Paul wrote Hebrews or not seems to be of high importance. I tend toward your side, FWIW. Hebrews 2:3 says, "...It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard" The language seems point toward a second-hand knowledge of Christ's message, which would not be consistent with the revelation Paul received. That's the main thing that leads me to believe Paul didn't write the letter. :thumb:
