Sounds like Coach Wright has had the ref's on his side for a while based upon what everyone is saying. I'm sure he's thankful because of that or else his teams would have to rely on hard work and determination to get by. Who would want to have to do that?

And sometimes they don't Bubba. I know you were not there, so it's hard to say something like that when you're not there. The goaltending call was an obvious miss by the ref and losing St. John really hurt, too. St. John is 100 percent, South wins.

But a win is a win, and I had Clay ranked second, so the Tigers should have won. :laugh:

I thought he should have been T'd up when St. John was injured. Wright kept riding the officials as if were their fault St. John came down on someones foot. There was absolutely no foul on the play but he just kept on and on and on over the play as if he were blaming the officials for the injury. If wright had put as much energy towards coaching his team as he did wasting his time riding the officials he would have been much better off. On second thought, Sizemore done a much better job than Wright was doing. The whole fiasco may have been South's only chance at winning.

I totally agree. I thought St. John came down on the kids ankle, too. I agree he should have been tossed, but the ref missed the call on the goaltending call. If St. John was healthy, South wins.

I wasn't at the game, so don't know if the T's were legit or not. I was just told that it was being investigated because a ref on the game said BEFORE the game he was going to eject Coach Wright. I'm not saying that I know this to be true, only that it was told to me. I guess only time will tell...

Here's what I saw. The ball was half way through the goal when a South player's hands reached into the goal. I'm not 100% sure that he touched the rim or the ball, but his hands DID go into the goal along with the ball. Is this goaltending?

The T's would have to be legit because the T's sound like to me were because of sportsmanship. But like I said wasn't there just going by here say. They are clearly not tolerated at all by the KHSAA because of the sportsmanship statement that is read before any contest starts in any sport.

Could it have been Basket Interference? The question boils down to whether or not the player touched the rim. If he did, it was a good call. If he didn't, the ref missed the call, but in his defense, it did look like the player could have touched the rim while the ball was in the goal. The best result for South that came from the call...Wright went to the locker room.

 

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas. So...If Clay shoots 50% from the free throw line in the second half, they win by around 14. St. John was not going to be a win/lose factor.

I find that an official would make such a statement really hard to believe. It sounds like someone is just making an excuse for South's loss and for Wright's behavior, which I think the officials have put up with for much too long.
