I won't argue it. I agree the Cats are a dangerous team to anyone, and they did what good teams do and that is find a way to win. However, this game could have easily have been Conner's. A missed three from the corner and this game belongs to the Cougars. I did not expect Conner to lead most of the game like they did. I still think after Holmes, NKY in general is wide open.

Newport looked tired to me they looked like they had no legs.Thats what happens when you dont use your bench. The six players that played four days in a row were exhausted.

Im telling you the Cats are for real this year.

 

Good ball club, still not to the level of Holmes. Tough season to be "for real." Holmes will go down state again. Newport is headed in the right direction though and thats good for them.

3 guys not getting enough pub that all play for Conner... Clay Robinson, Tyler Hodges and Jake Flesch.

 

For juniors these three guys are pretty darn good. Not to mention, this is Flesch's first year of varsity.

 

Look out for Conner later this season and next year.

In the few times I've seen Conner, Tim Lang has been their most impressive player. Flesch, Hodges, and Robinson are all very good, but still too inconsistent right now.

But if you watch the substitution patterns of the hc it is obvious he does not think so.

Tim Lang is a very good ball player and he really knows how to be in the right place at the right time. He reads defenses very well. He does need to get stronger handling the ball. He looked shaky at times against aggressive defenses in open court. He is by far Conner's most consistent scorer.

It bothers teams that dont have much depth like Newport this year.

I noticed that as well. Lang seems to play with no fear while he's out there. I really like his game.

Agreed. It is my understanding that Jake Flesch was injured last year, so his upside is tremendous. Very smart ballplayer, in the Covington Turners mold.

As was shown in the Lloyd tournament. He continues to handle the ball and create opportunities, but is starting to show that he can score when needed as well.
