Carroll will be lucky to win 10 games. Their guard play is below average and they don't have a true post player. The Yeager kid is a very good player, but his supporting cast is lacking. Magic number 9 wins...

The refs called a tight game as they should. GC gets away with too much hacking and has done this for years, why? the reason has always escaped me. Hopefully they will continue to call them tight in GC.

Carroll hasn't had a true post player for several years but #20 always battles and is as tough as they come. The majority of the players do not have much varsity experience but they continue to improve. It was good to see Wise in the varsity game, hopefully he will earn more playing time as the season continues and help out under the basket.

This team has several good fresh, soph, Juniors and Seniors and gave GC all they could handle..as well as Owen and Henry. Let Yager work with them and by the end of the season these will turn to wins.

Also Congrats to Gallatin! Both teams played hard and the refs kept the hand checks and pushes down to minumum on both sides.

I'm curious as to why CC didn't try to run some zone. Gallatin abused their man def. all night. I've seen GC play a couple games and they are weak at perimeter play. The game was a whole lot closer than it should have been, GC did everything they could to give it away. I agree with boring...what a sleeper. Where is the intensity in Jones team?

Kind of strange to hear someone talking about lack of intensity on the part of a Jon Jones'-coached team. I was - and am - very high on the end-of-the-year potential for this Gallatin team - but they will need to have the intensity level ratcheted up every night in order to be successful, particularly against some of the bigger 8th region teams - which, compared to Gallatin, is just about everyone. They'll have to be faster to every loose ball, quicker to every rebound, etc., etc.

 

But I still think Gallatin will make a lot of noise by the time all is said and done.

As soon as Carroll County stops trying to rely on one person, they will be a lot better. You cannot revolve an offense around one individual and expect to be successful in the long run. Carroll County does not have the type of talent to do this. There is talent on this team that is not being used. #20 battles down low every game but they continue to live and die by the 3 point shot. Gallatin County is one of the few teams Carroll County is actually bigger than and they failed to get the ball inside. Team ball is where it has to start for Carroll County. Best of luck to both teams the rest of the season! :thumb:
