Great game! Owen County led the paint. Gallatin County did not have an answer for the guards or the bigs!

The game was back in forth the 1st half and going into the half Owen hit a lay-up with 1 second left and went in the half with alot of momentum and came out the second half with confidence and played real well. This game really was the 1st time they were able to get out and run the court this season.

I knew the Rebels were big and strong in the paint. I was shocked with the speed in the open court. They shot Lay up after lay up.

Don't get too excited. These two teams will meet two more times, at GC on 1/5 and the All"A" on 1/18. When you are losing 5-6 inches at most positions, that is a pretty good strategy. Also a good strategy for Owen to play zone, considering they can not guard Gallatin man to man and Gallatin had a hard time scoring from the perimeter. Game plans do not always work. Players have to make plays and make shots. Could be the exact opposite next time or two that these teams meet. One thing is for sure. Coach Jones and Coach Duvall always have their teams ready to play and play hard.

District seeding will mean very little in the 31st District this season. Not a whole lot of difference between GC, CC,OC and HC at this point.

The District records thus far look different. It has been my expierence that the better teams will have the better records.

Districts are not won in January. Owen may very well be the best team in the District. I am not ready to crown them yet. T'is a long season. All this from my experiences also.

I Think at this point in the early season, coach Jones and Coach Duvall would rather be playing Henry or Carroll when it is one and out. I agree it is early, but every win or loss is big. I agree. I just don't think that the difference between #1 and #4 will be that far apart. At this point at least.

Who said anything about being excited. I was talking about 1 game. That is what I thought this thread was about. I agree that there is alot of season left and no one should be counting their chickens yet.
