What do you guys think GC's problem is?

 

 

Simple - They cannot handle the press and they will see this all year long until they prove to other teams that they can.

Ashland must have a good press, as they forced Lewis into 30+ turnovers in that game.

What does poor conditioning have to do with 41 turnover? Greenup out rebounded Ashland 59 to 24. It sounds more like a poor game plan and poor rotation of players by the coach! Teach the young men how to break a press and attack the basket.

 

Poor game plan?? Greenup knew what every play was going to be before it was made. You have to follow the game plan!!! Greenup is prepared for every game, but the players have to execute and apply what they learn in practice. You seriously think the coaching staff didnt work on a press offense? They did. Time for the players to take some responsibility and have desire to do the right things to win.

Somebody need to get in their faces, throw down some challenges or ride the pine. You can lose with guys on bench just as well as the starters. GC looked like they didn't care if they won or lost that second half. Give me 100% effort and I can deal with the lost. :thumb:

They play Lewis tonight, maybe both coaches will agree to play half court defense only.

Nobody said that Coach Fraley didnt take the credit for the loss. He would never throw his players under the bus. Listen to the post game interview. In real life, players either make plays or they don't. Coaches can only put them in the best situation to succeed. Scouting, giving positive motivation, giving constructive criticism, and making adjustments throughout the game is pretty much all a coach can do. Players have to execute what they are supposed to do. If coaches had a joystick it would be all on the coach. 16-18 year old kids are making the in game split second decisions and mistakes will be made. It is early. Lets see how this team develops over time. District tournament is all that matters.

I said on this forum 3-4 months ago that GC has no guards. They will be pressed the whole year.
