Although maybe it doesn't show up in the W-L columns yet, I believe Fleming County is much improved this season.

Fleming Co. played extremely physical, bottom line.

And the game was played in Grayson

Which had NOTHING to do with the FT difference. Is everybody supposed to shoot the same number of ft's? Is that rule I missed that the KHSAA put in?? 2 things: Fleming is mainly a jump shooting team with not really a back to the basket post up player which of course doesn't lead to a lot of ft's, East likes to go inside to Barnhill which leads to fouls, also, about 10 of those ft's came at the end when Fleming fouled on purpose.

I happened to be at this game. I was impressed with Fleming Co. They were very physical. Other than some of the Roger Zornes boyd county teams that had the philosophy of "foul every trip down the floor because the officials will get tired of blowing the whistles"...Fleming Co. was the most physical team I have seen. They literally beat the tar out of the Raiders but on the positive side they circled up after the game and had prayer!

For the victims? J/K!

I'm glad Fleming is improving!

Actually believe it or not they could have been a good bit more fouls called than was one of the most physical high school teams I have seen.

Basketball is more physical then Mr. Naismith intended. How physical a game is going to be is usually determined in the early part of the first quarter. This is determined by the striped shirts. Once this is determined, then both teams have the following options:

1) Adjust

2) Foul Out

3) Quit Fouling

If the refs are letting them play physical - then play physical

If the refs are calling every touch foul - then quit touching

If your team does not adjust and continues to be called for fouls - then guess what - the other team is going to shoot more Free Throws.

Pretty Simple!

Glad to see that Fleming County is much improved this season. 16th region coaches didn't give them a chance in the preseason polls probably due to their unsuccessful season last year. Also happy to see that new Coach Brian Kelly has got his team playing physical and competing with top teams in the region like East Carter and Ashland in the first few weeks of the season.
