Bishop Brossart 70 Silver Grove 20

Not much to say here really SG was just way over matched. Good to see the mustangs put up a lot of point in a game where Reiger struggled a little bit.

Brossart puts 15 in the scoring column, including first time varsity points by sophomores Jared Hahn, Matt Kramer, Austin Trentman, and Joe Jennings.

BB: Armstrong 5-0-0/1-10, Fardo 0-3-0/0-9, Morscher 1-0-0/0-2, A.Kramer 3-0-0/0-6, Norton 3-1-0/0-9,

Dierig 0-1-0/0-3, Schultz 0-0-2/2-2, Rieger 4-0-0/2-8, Saunders 3-0-1/3-7, Schack 1-0-0/0-2,

Brugger 1-0-2/2-4, Hahn 1-0-0/2-2, Trentman 1-0-0/0-2, Jennings 1-0-0/0-2, M.Kramer 1-0-0/0-2

Totals: 25-5-5/12-70 2-0 1-0

SG: Gindele 1-0-2/3-4, Perry 0-0-0/1-0, Denham 0-0-0/1-0, Baumann 1-0-0/0-2, Sandfoss 3-0-1/4-7,

Morris 1-1-1/2-6, Vogel 0-0-1/2-1

Totals: 6-1-5/13-20 0-2

Not much of a chance to Struggle in tonight's game. Made some nice moves to the basket and had no one to stop him. he played limited minutes do to the kindness of coach Code.

They could have brought in the St Joe's 8th grade team to get their firsy varsity points. I listened to the first half online just to hear the boistrous Mustang : ). Nice job ! But then I realized wazoo had the scoy co vs Ballard game on. That one was a lil more competeive.

Thanks! I've been called many things over the years. I'm sure that boisterous also applies - lol!

In this line of work, I suspect that boisterous is better than bland.

No offense being one-upped by the Scott County/Ballard game. :thumb:

Loved the exuberance don't change a thing!

He missed some wide open shots and missed a few free throws. I realize he wasn't in the game all that much. I didn't mean he had a horrible game or anything.

That Jake has "struggled" a bit in his first two games is a valid assessment. Jake would tell you that.

Those of us who watch him practice every day, and know what he is capable of from watching him play AAU all summer know that he is capable of much better than what he showed in his first two games.

With that being said, against St. Henry, Jake put up 17 points and pulled down 11 boards - pretty good for an "off night."

Against the Grove, he was whistled for two quick fouls, relegating him to the bench, and then a third, which sent him right back to the sidelines.

The game was long over in the second half and Coach Code saved him for another day.

Jacob Rieger is a true blue-chipper, who will show his true colors over and again this season. He will be a real asset and contributor to the college who lands him. His best basketball is still in front of him.

Let the record show that it wasn't a Brossart guy making those comments. :D The Brossart fans have shown nothing but respect for Silver Grove's players & program over the years. I distinctly remember a standing "O" for Corey Pelle by the BBHS fans a couple years ago, as he received his awards for the All-Tourney teams at the All "A" regionals & Districts!!

I just call em like I see em. That was sarcasm and probably not good to kick a team when they are down. I have a ton of respect for the Grovers and have enjoyed the success they have had in recent years with the McCarters, Pelles, Horstman, etc. Sorry you took that as a dig at the school and program. :isurrender:

Wow! This doesn't say much about Bracken County's victory over Silver Grove which was a close 6 point victory the other night.
