Gregg, Bush ruled eligible at Ashland

Featured Replies

I had two children that went to RH from the beginning of their education until last year. We pulled them out, I know this sounds ridiculous but, for academic reasons. One child was in high school and participated in sports. We, as Christian parents, knew by KHSAA rules our child would have to sit out a year, the RIGHT thing to do, and didn't apply for eligibility. One sat out the year athletically as is the penalty for such action.

My question is how can "Christian" parents allow their children to play when the rule HAS NOT been satisfied for eligibility? What message are we sending our children? What damage are we doing to the Church as "Christians" that willingly break rules?

I am happy for these two young men that can immediately play a sport they love. I've watched them many times and will continue to do so. They're very good players and will help Ashland immediately.

I as a Christian think you have the wrong idea, just because you break a rule does not mean it is a sin and it has nothing at all to do with the Church. I just came in from driving my car thru a 45mph speed zone. I set my cruise on 50 all the way thru it. That is a broken rule not a sin. I am not going to miss out on Heaven for driving 5mph over the speed limit. If I get a ticket for parking illegal I am still going to Heaven. I don't mean to turn this into a Religious thread, but IMO your way off base with the Christian and Church thing. I hope we all try to teach our kids not to break the rules, but there is a big gap between speeding and lying.

Also if they have appealed and the KHSAA says they are eligible they have not broken any rules by playing. There are none of us on here that know the exact reason why the KHSAA declared these young men eligible. I am happy that they get to play and I have no dog in this fight.

So, you are against Paul appealing to Rome for a "eligibility" hearing when he was ruled to be executed?

I am taking a gamble here that St. Peter isn't going to ding someone for appealing a rule so that someone's son or daughter can play an extracurricular activity.

Rose Hill-KHSAA

Daily Independent reporting on its website that Rose Hill is banned from postseason play, fined $6000, and 3 years probation.

Could this be why these players where ruled eligible after their appeal?
