From the story I read today it seems obvious that it was not murder.

 

No signs of struggle. The only marks on his body were around his neck.

 

His ankles were taped tightly but his hands were not.

 

He was found hanging with his knees touching the ground. As it said in the article, all he had to to was stand up.

 

The guy was looking out for his son who needed money.

 

Case closed.

Seems too convenient an explanation. So this guy choked himself to death? How did he manage to hold on to the rope long enough to kill himself? How did he not pass out first?

 

Well, it allows them to close the books on an investigation where it has probably been like pulling teeth getting potential witnesses to cooperate.

 

There may be millions of unsolved cases in this country, but I doubt there are too many that are as high profile as this one. That alone was reason enough to try to find a quick resolution.

FOX 56 report showed a police officer who said the deceased had taken out a $600,000 life insurance policy that wouldn't pay if the death was by suicide.

This type of thing is becoming very common unfortunately during these tough economic times. Its sad that someone even contemplates ending their life over financial hardship. Say a prayer for the guy for gods sake.

I am really surprised by this. All I have talked to who knew him were very surprised that this was the result of the investigation. My daughter had him as a substitute teacher on several occasions and thought he was an excellent teacher and related well to the kids.

Unfortunately, I have had multiple friends take their lives in the past couple of years. I can honestly say that nobody expected anything like that to happen.

I understand what you're saying, but by that logic everyone who buys an insurance policy is suspect.

 

I still don't buy it, and I feel as though it's a situation where investigators looked for the convenient way out as they could not get anyone to cooperate/testify (which should not be a big surprise).

 

The question still not answered: How was he hanged to death? Who held the rope for him? Because it seems to me that if he was trying to do it himself, he would've passed out from lack of oxygen before he died.
