South Laurel Not Going to PRP Panarama

Featured Replies

Don't know what PRP is going to do to fill the gap in theri panarama this Saturday. It leaves Seneca without a scrimmage with less than two weeks before the season starts.

That's pretty bad treatment of another school, if ya ask me...

I am not sure why SL backed out, but I do know that the local schools have really tightened up on any longer trips for athletic events, ... especially for scrimmages. This might have played into it, but I am just not sure.

They were one of the schools listed that will play in the scrimmage at Corbin's new "Arena" Saturday that I saw somewhere.

Press release from the Arena has South Laurel playing Scott Co. 11/21/09 at 7:00 p.m. the 8th of 9 games there that day. Warren Central and Knott Co. Central play the 1:00 game, should be a good one as well.

Well,

I did a story on South playing Scott County more than a month ago. And, I DO KNOW for a fact that coach Wright and P.R.P.'s coach are very good friends, so I'm sure he gave him an explanation.

Not surprising at all...

Boy, oh boy.

PRP did not find out about this until this week and were not happy about a team dropping out 5 days before the scrimmage. They really wont be happy if they find out SL knew over a month ago they would not participate. Did Seneca get to scrimmage? I know they called Fairdale this week who had a classic yesterday, looking for an opening.

I don't know if Seneca found a replacement, or not. They are on the schedule to play Graves County at Male on the 28th. I'm sure Seneca's players were disappointed not to be a part of the day yesterday at PRP...

I actually ran the story on Aug. 12. So it was longer than a month ago.

Apparently Seneca or PRP read the article...
