Dan Patrick says that in order for the current system of determining a national champion to change, the all-powerful SEC will be the force that gets it done. WLW was saying that UC got $17 million for playing in the Orange Bowl last year. Said they lose to Pitt and they are looking at Fiesta Bowl and $2 million. That's a big change. I think Congress sticks their nose in and makes the changes.

Which is why I don't understand why you rather have the BCS. I mean you are right there would be debate on rather a 1 loss Bama or Florida should get in over TCU or Boise. However you seem to be for the BCS because you think the playoffs takes away from the season. Well this just shows how even more exciting it would be to watch the Bama/Florida game because we would know the loser very well could then be left out of the playoffs. Which in this case I would say that they should be left out of the playoffs, if there are two undefeated teams in non BCS schools like TCU or Boise. I mean that shows that every game in the season in important and means something to TCU and Boise too, because one loss for them and they have no chance at making the playoffs. So overall the season would still be just as exciting, and every game still meaning a lot. The only difference would be is that we will actually be crowning more of a true National Champion than we do now, because the system we have in place now only gives two teams and two teams only a chance for the title, and its not based on who really is better on the field. Its based on people's opinion on who they think is better. I don't see how anyone could like crowning a champion like that.
November 23, 200916 yr I don’t look at as being fair or unfair. If you compete and are successful throughout the season and in your conference and come through the season and make the playoffs then you should have the chance to compete for the national championship. Teams that have 5 or 6 losses should not be rewarded for marginal performance. If they want exposure then I would say perform better on the field. Look at what Boise State has done over the past five years. This would give teams from the non-automatic bid conferences even more exposure then they get now if they make the playoffs and prove they can play with an Alabama, Texas, Florida, etc… I agree w/ that.
