Notre Dame is not the ideal place to cut your teeth as a head coach. I think Weis has the Irish heading in the right direction, just not the right pace. It's hard to justify the loss to Navy in South Bend. I think they'll have a true

Irishman at the helm next year, Brian Kelly.

Sure every kid should get better from each year. But he is not developing talent that turns into wins.

His biggest accomplishment is winning the Commander and Cheif Trophy.

He has developed a good offense, period. It is his defenses that never develop. His secondary players have always been less athletic than adequate, and the DLine lacks players who can push the pocket.

So it's not these three guys God given ability, but some guy standing behind them telling them waht to do that has made them good football players. Just so I understand.

Sure, a lot of it his, but Brady went from not even starting in College, to winning a Super Bowl MVP. I have watched Brady in college and the change from college and the NFL is mind boggling. I think some coaches are able to develop a specific position. Brady Quinn wasn't very good before Charlie Weis came to South Bend and then he turned into a Heisman finalist and Maxwell Award winner. And Jimmy Claussen will probably win a few awards this season.

Okay he can develope QB's what about the other 21 positions?

He's an offensive guy, I think once the recruiting finally filled out, he put together a pretty good offense.

Watch tape of the OL from two years ago and watch them now. Much improvement has been made.

I agree, Sam Young is one of the best OL in the country and he wasn't that two years ago.

I don't think that the talent development is the issue, he has arguably the two best receivers, the best quarterback, the best left tackle, and one of the two or three best tight ends in the country. I just don't think he has what it takes to coach an entire team.

Weis will not be the coach at Notre Dame next season, that is all but certain!

I don't see the ND administration going with Gruden.
