Here we go again, rematch from last year....Monroe has this one, but the Tigers have home field....any thoughts?

I feel Monroe has to much for Bardstown this year. Falcons are very strong defensively and run a huge variety of offensive schemes...and completely know how to play against the Wildcat!:thumb:

I think that Monroe will win this one 28 to 7.

OK Monroe County BGPers: last year I drove down to Tompkinsville on 31-E through Hodgenville and Glasgow. I drove back by going over to Glasgow and then getting on I-65. I found I-65 to be faster. You take I-65 to Elizabethtown, getting off on the Bluegrass Parkway headed toward Lexington. Get off the first Bardstown exit off the Bluegrass Parkway (about 15-20 minutes from E-Town), make a left off the exit, go down and up a long hill, coming into Bardstown at a "T" right across from St. Joseph's Cathedral. Make a right turn, but get over into the left lane, as almost immediately you will making a left turn onto Fifth Street. Go down 5th street about 3 or 4 blocks and you will see Bardstown High School on the left. The easiest way to access the field is via "Tiger Alley" right next to the gymnasium.

 

We have several good places to eat in town, which we can discuss if you will PM me. There is also a good grill at the field which does pork burgers and pork chop sanwiches. You all were very friendly and hospitable last year (other than kicking our teeth in) and certainly we would expect to return the favor.

 

As for the game, I'll comment more later in the week. No question that Monroe should be the overwhelming favorite. Bardstown's quarterback situation is up in the air, we start an awful lot of sophomores and freshmen, and have been decimated by both injury and illness. However, the Tigers still have some very dangerous threats and in my opinion, the best player on the field in Ricky Harper, when he is properly motivated. The Wildcat was a totally new look that was engendered by necessity last week, I do not expect it to be the norm.

Last yera is last year as far as this game is concerned. Think Monroe will be too much for Bardstown this week. B-Town has tradition and will play hard but just think Monroe will be too much. Heard Harper very good player for the Tigers but Monroe has quite a few good players themselves if you key one man for Monroe plenty of other players to beat you.

Bardstown is no doubt going to put up a good fight and they do a lot of things that have given us trouble this year, hopefully we've gotten better and hopefully Bardstown won't do those things that hurt us as good as Franklin Simpson and Green did.

Is that the portion of the Bluegrass Parkway that has all the bumps and potholes? If it is I’m convinced you don't want us to make it to the game...:lol:

That part's actually in pretty good shape. It's when you get into the Washington County section and further east that it's bad. I rarely drive in the slow lane because of it.

Heck, I figured since it was the most direct route, it made sense it would be a decent road, and therefore quicker. Needless to say we did not go that way back home.

Our bad for not telling you guys the best way to come to T-Ville, it wouldn't have been 63. I've never really thought about it much but I bet that’s the way most visitors get to Monroe Co., we should probably post directions with our predictions :lol:...

Will do....We are leaving at 3:00 to get there in time to eat, but I can honestly say that I am not looking forward to the drive! I feel this could be a real good game, but if we was not playing I would probably go see Danville at Green...that one could be a battle of the run game!!!!!
