You are wrong about this. East Ridge let at 12:30 and arrived in Maysville a little after 4 pm and ate at Ponderosa and was at the field and dressed when I arrived at 5:45. I believe they warmed up on the practice field and was there in plenty of time.

 

Does this mean will have to start watching teams warmup on the practice field before games? Is that field that precious all of a sudden? I mean come on. Watching opposing teams and the Royals warm up on the field and go through their drills is something i enjoy coming to the field early. Was like a ghost town until the teams took the field last night,very odd.

As long as the game field is wet, and we are playing football, soccer, and band contests on the field, we will protect it the best we can. It's all we've got and we are trying to keep it as nice as possible for all the kids. If we can get the first field(practice) to handle a bigger crowd, I am open to using it for varsity games down the road. Not ideal, but trying to manage it the best we can.

Coach, I know I may be in the minority, but am one of those people that like to get to the game one hour before kickoff to watch both teams,especially opposing teams go through their pre-game drills and see what they work on, the different things they do,etc. To me it's part of the atmosphere for the actual game, last night was really,really weird. Had no idea East Ridge was even there, until they took the field. Was this the first time teams went to the practice field? don't ever recall that ever happening.

We did the same thing for the Russell and Fleming games. I agree it is not ideal, but we are trying to make it work the best we can.

I generally get to the games an hour or more early and it seems the teams always warm up early on the practice field. You can eat at the tailgate and watch, etc. You can get closer to the teams then than when they're on the playing field. I like it because I can better judge the size of the players.
