For the fourth straight year Newport Central Catholic has defeated Campbell Co for the 10th region Championship . As did the other matches between these two teams this one went to three games with Campbell Co. winning the first game 25 - 19 . Newport Central Catholic though came back and won the next two 25 - 20 , 25 - 21 thus winning the Championship . At the beginning of the season the seers were saying that Highlands and Campbell Co were the favorites to win the region ,giving Newport Central catholic scant love . Well girls you proved the seers wrong .

Congratulations to Coach Vicki Fleissner , and Assistant Coaches Scott Froendhoff and Alicia Heller on a job well done .

Mertle is a legend at NCC and in Northern Kentucky. With that being said, Vicki has done a very good job in her first season as head coach. NCC has a strong core group of sophomore players right now that will undoubtedly only get better over the next two seasons.

 

As for the Camels, congratuatlons on another fine season. Coach Ballinger knows the game well and always gets the most out of every team that she coaches.

Yes they lost a lot , but we had a core group of freshmen that got a lot of playing time on varsity last year This years seniors stepped upand played great , and don't forget that we probably have the best QB ( setter Taylor Snyder ) in Northern Ky .

Taylor Snyder does run the floor like a veteran. She is one of the top sophomores in the state.

Taylor Snyder is probably the best setter I have seen play the year. Have you seen her hit? It is pretty darn good too.

Does Snyder remind you of anyone? Sure looks a lot like her cousin, Kaela Freppon, that had been setting for NCC the last 4 years.

Congrats to all of the Seniors for NCC and good luck next week for state....Also I saw #9 play last night she was doing a tremendous job in helping her team to victory, I believe her name is Ashley Piller...Also #13 Trishia Taylor played very well..Bring home the state trophy back to the hill!!!
