As a Lawrence County fan I have to agree with these rankings. After last year the coaching staff made an effort to water down the schedule a little and therefore you can't demand respect from beating what is a mostly weak schedule. The coaching staff made the right decision because we now have confidence and a winning attitude again. I would put them in the top 15, but we'll know more after the first two weeks of the playoffs. That's when real respect is earned.

Lawrence can't help that they are in a weak district, and the coaching staff did the absolute correct thing in making this schedule, the program needed it and it will pay off in the long run. I think a lot of coaching staffs don't do this often enough. Sometimes you have evaluate your program and decide what direction you need to go to benefit the program. By weakening the schedule a little they have instilled confidence and promoted the program. Hats off to the coaching staff for doing what was needed.

I totally agree 100% and also agree that it is the coaching staffs job to protect his team and program in this way when necessary! I also tip my hats to this coaching staff for making the right decision for their team and program. The reason I wanted to say this is because we did the same thing several years ago to revitalize are program and got crusified on here when we started winning games. We have tried to slowly beef up our schedule slowly so our program can keep going as we build and even though we are playing the toughest schedule in the history of the program we still get crusified on here from some about how are schedule is weak. Our coaching staff was talking about this today and said if we played this years schedule last year we would probably be 2-6 instead of 6-2 and if we played it the year before we could have been even worse off! So to the Lawrence Co coaches keep up the good work, adjust your schedule slowly as you keep building your program I am 100% behind your decision!

:thumb::thumb::thumb:THANKS for the truth. I don't know to much about LC anymore other then they have been down for a few years. That said. They sure are putting a pounding on anybody on the other side of the ball. It must be fun to watch. And it helps out the area you live in. It puts a smile on their face when LC football is talked about.:D:D:notworthy:

I can agre that the watered down schedule makes it hard to get any respect, but I don't know how anyone who has seen Lawrence County play can deny that they belong in the top 10. They should have no trouble finishing up the season undefeated.

Like I said, we'll know more after the second game of the playoffs. After that LC could possibly be getting ready to face Bell (assuming they get there) or we'll be sitting at home realizing that an undefeated record or a top ten ranking doesn't scare teams in the playoffs.

 

With that said the coaches at LC are so talented that I don't expect to be able to retain them all for very long. Quality coaches are hard to find and this seasons record is evidence that we have an abundance of them in my opinion.
