Monroe County/Glasgow Predictions

Here we go to a big district rival between the Monroe County Falcons @ 6-1 and the Glasgow Scotties @ 4-3.

 

Monroe as well as Glasgow are coming off a much needed bi-week. The boys are healthy and very hungry after a tough loss to Franklin-Simpson. The team had three days off away from each other and the staff to get healthy mind and body...they returned for film on sunday and prepaired for the week ahead! They feel like they gave one away to a good FS club and are very eager to show the other teams in 2a that this team is a big threat to whomever they play.

Glasgow is also prepairing for a tough game to be played at Monroe this year...a tough environment for any team to come in and play because of the fan base Monroe has. Sometimes us fans can get a little loud!!!!

No matter what this should be a great week of practice followed by one tough match up in the district...this is always a great game and should not disappoint this year!!!

Good luck to both...but I am still partial to my Falcons!!!

Who knows what to think on this one... Over the years I've seen Glasgow beat us when they shouldn’t have and vice versa, I have no doubt that Monroe is the better team, however, I also know that Glasgow WILL bring their “A” game and Monroe had better bring theirs or we will lose. I feel like Monroe will be ready to play and hopefully they will channel all the hate and disdain for the Scotties that all the previous Falcons have had, that alone would ensure they are ready to play...

Glasgow will play Falcons tough as always Coach Woods reminds them of 61 Monroe put up on them last year. Monroe wins this one this year but Glasgow will most likley be the team to beat in district next year.

Can't wait for Friday to get here. Glasgow has always been a rival of Monroe/Tompkinsville and the way I see it we still owe them a few. I hope this group of Falcons feels the same way, and I hope the crowd is ready to get loud for this game. This game reminds me of the song the old timers used to sing, it’s not appropriate for BGP but it involved a spoon and howling at the moon… Good times…

I was listening to the Coaches show last night and totally agree that people in Monroe County will judge this class on how well they play against a good Glasgow squad. This is an enormous rival game between two good schools. The Monroe/Green game is getting really nasty over the past couple years but this is definately the game you judge your season on if you are a alumni of Monroe. This is the game you will remember along time after you graduate and look back on! This young team needs to feel the standing rivalry between these two schools.

^These seniors are currently 2-2 vs. Glasgow in their varsity years so this game is big to break the tie and graduate with a winning record vs. Glasgow. I hope they know how long the joy of beating Glasgow will last and how important it is to the people of this community, with many of them working in Glasgow I'm sure it would make next Monday fun...
