HC looked flat in this game.

Jake Geisler is the best Junior lineman I have seen this year.

What is Roenker's current role in HC's offense?

Where's goldandblack to tell us how over it is up on the little hill?:ylsuper:

He is alone at home crying.

As a neutral observer I think maybe HC didn't do any of the things mentioned because frankly the game was over, and this wasn't the game that really counts. The next one, if there is one, will be in the playoffs and that is the important one. I think HC didn't want to show anything after the game was decided. You noticed NCC did nothing different after they got the lead either. I would guarantee they will have some new twists when, and if, they meet again. JMO.

Yes, to the nuetral observer, I could see where one might think that. But to the HC fan over the last 4 years, you know that is not the case. You think, OK...they will pull out all the stops in the next game...WRONG! Same bad play calling, same refusal to consider assistant coaches suggestions.

Typical sideline conversation (from inside sources, wishing to remain anonymous)...

Assistant: Coach, they have a lineman guarding one of our receivers!

Coach: Ugghh, hmmmph.

Assistant: Coach, we need to throw it deep to exploit this mismatch!

Coach: Me no throw ball deep. Me no like one play TD drive. Me boss, not you.:ohbrother:

HC looked flat in this game.

There is the understatement of the year!

Yes, you can blame the coaches all you want (as I do). But when it comes down to it...players need to have the heart and guts to not give up 300+ yards on runs up the middle all night long.

As mentioned, NCC did nothing fancy on offense...didn't have to. Just like the Beechwood game...STOP THE RUN!!! All that takes is heart, guts and desire. NCC & Beechwood had that (always will) and HC players did not...simple as that.:isurrender:

Is it possible that Holy Cross just doesn't have a good enough team to win a game like this? It sounds like NCC just ran it down their throat and they couldn't stop it. That tells me that HC just isn't good enough to beat NCC. When you know what a team is going to do and still can't stop it, you just have to say the other guys are the better team.

In other words, I don't Holy Cross was flat. I think they were flattened.

HC has the athletes to keep up w/ NewCath, it's their line and play calling that is their weakness. NewCath was in better shape on the lines. When they were fresh at the beginnning of the game, HC was able to drive it right down the field. A. Wagner made adjustments, and B. NewCath's conditioning took over. They destroyed the center of HCs line on offense and did a very good job making Roeneker run east and west on defense. Walker was not used very well. If you are going to take away snaps from him and line him up at WR, throw some screens to him. Do something to get it to him in space. NewCath looked very good running the ball, and when they felt like throwing it, Hitchew looked like he keeps improving.
