They got their bye week with no game with Lincoln. Garrard offered to move their game with Lincoln to a weekday with short notice. But PC will now have 2 bye weeks.

I just heard them say that on the radio. HUGE night for Vaughn. A big key stat in this one so far is that PC and SL both have 2 turnovers.

Then if the game was going to have to be played on PC's off week, then that isn't fair to Pulaski because they deserve a bye week just like every other high school team. They opted to play the game Saturday and Lincoln County couldn't so a forfeit should be awarded. It's an unfortunate situation, but I don't blame PC.

Nope, it's not Pulaski's fault at all. It isn't Lincoln's either. They did what was in the best interest of their kids.

 

However, an alternative was offered which was refused which would have had 2 teams (Lincoln and Garrard) playing a game on a Tues after a Friday night game. PC would still have their bye, which really worked out best for them getting to scout their next 2 opponents at the same place (SL vs SWP last week). It was a win/win for everyone. It was a fair alternative, that PC refused.

 

I am not blaming PC for the flu or what happened at Lincoln. It could not have been avoided. But IMHO, PC had a very viable alternative on the table and turned it down.

 

Garrard County, .. with no dog in the hunt, .. was willing to play a district game on a Friday and then play Lincoln 4-5 days later on a Tuesday to help their neighboring county. I really believe that this was an EXCELLENT alternative for PC, but instead 2 groups of seniors lost a game they will never get back. As someone who lost 7 games my senior season due to an injury, ... there isn't much of a price I wouldn't pay to get at least one of those games back. None of these kids have that option, but their loss could have been avoided.

That's not PC's fault. They gave Lincoln an option to play on a Saturday, which would have given the Maroons a six-day rest. Lincoln couldn't do it, so Pulaski did what they were supposed to do. Bad situation, but I would have done the same thing.

Bottom line, they gave Lincoln an option to play Saturday, they couldn't and Pulaski gave them another chance. It's bad for the Lincoln County kids, I agree, but you have to take care of your own, too.
