Point taken, but I have to argue against you on this. Just wouldn't feel right if I didn't. LOL. After watching a few games of Boone, their defense has struggled very much against backs that are of less talent than Bradley, IMO. I agree that it will be easier to key on him than it was on other teams, but every game Bradley has had success and I don't see that changing.

I agree with you here. Anyone that has seen Boone play this year can see that they were in place to make plays against teams like Scott County, Anderson, Highlands and Conner (minus the quick hitch pass), but they simply didn't make the play. There's no reason Bradley would not do the same damage if they continue to miss tackles like before. With better tackling, Boone could easily have a slightly better record this year. Even the games they won, they still had a large number of missed tackles. So, Boone can key on Bradley all they want, but if they don't hit low and wrap up, he'll still run them over.

Agree totally with you. Now I am not knocking Boone County at all because they are a good team and have played some VERY difficult games this year. But you must point out obvious things like this. Is Cooper as good as some of the other teams Boone has played? No. But, do I think with a healthy Bradley that Cooper can compete with Boone County this year based on what they have shown? Yes. I think it will be an interesting game friday night and if I am wrong I will be the first to start cooking the crow. I know how you guys love pointing that out. :lol: LOL JK

Cooper's one-dimensional offense will be contained by Boone. That's not to say that Bradley isn't a solid back or that Cooper doesn't have a decent running game. But that's all they have and it makes it much easier for a defense when they can focus on one guy and/or one particular aspect of the game. The fact that Boone has given up large rushing amounts in prior games doesn't apply here - they were playing much stronger opponents and opponents who also presented passing threats. Boone 42, Cooper 14.

Same story with Cooper. Both defenses have been shakey at best. Sorry, but I am not buying into your arguement, Bradley has more yards than both backs I am pretty sure, and both defenses have shown signs of struggle.

I hate to agree with a non Cooper fan but I have to in this case. First, I'm not sure Cooper's QB is healthy after going out of the game last week. Then, Cooper has had trouble catching the ball on a consistent basis. I don't know why they don't throw more screen passes to #12, Hutchinson I think. I saw him run track and he is their KO returner and he is very fast. He has had several long returns this year. I have not seen Boone but I hear they don't tackle very well at all. If this is true Bradley will have a field day, line or no line, as he has been making first cuts in the backfield half the time anyway. He is very hard to bring down. I still think Boone pulls this one out but I doubt it will be by 50 like SK, Ryle and probably Conner will do. I sure hope I'm wrong though.

You're more than welcome to go back through the totality of my previous posts in various threads and you'll see numerous positive comments, including my prediction that they can/should beat Campbell for their first district win. But there's nothing wrong with being a realist either. Cooper isn't Boone. Others can claim what they will, but they do not have Boone's running attack and do not even match up with Boone's very limited passing game. They do not have Boone's defense either. Add it all up and Boone wins this game handily.

They haven't played anywhere close to the same level of competition. While Boone is down this year, part of their struggles certainly have to do with the fact they have played a very strong schedule. Cooper simply has not. I understand they are only in their second season and it's not reasonable for them to schedule a top-flight 6A schedule. Makes total sense and I'm not belittling them for it. But Cooper's defensive struggles/offensive successes against some of the teams they have played simply don't measure up to the defensive struggles/offensive successes of Boone and their schedule. Not an insult to Cooper in the slightest. Just a simple statement of fact.

Unfortunately, Alford has been inconsistent even when Boone called the pass play. He can be a good throwing QB, but his talent has only been shown in his running ability since the Lafayete game. It's obvious that any QB, WR or TE that wants to excel in a passing scheme is at the wrong program if they attend Boone. Running backs will probably always be the dominant horse there.

For instance, Spaulding and Lokesak could been have two of the top receivers in NKY last year with a passing offense. Last year Alford finished with less than 500 yds passing, definately the lowest in the district, and this year it may be even less. He'll never get into a passing rhythm without gametime repetitions.

I don't know what your reasoning is on this one. Quainoo is faster, stronger, quicker, and more experienced. He is a back that led the state in the season last year, who is young enough to be a juinor (He was born on the cutoff date for grade levels).

 

Boone is there own opponent this week. If they come into the game like they can just go through the motions, than Cooper has a tiny chance.
