You can't coach talent that isn't there. I don't think they would have a lot of coaches beating down the door to take his place.

 

Exactly....I would bet that Coach Deaton and his staff is doing everything they can!

They will win in their class this year. I predict the Wildcats to win the Class AA conference. Coach Rice has the boys going in the right direction. They have plenty of great atheletes, its almost like a track team, and they beleive.

Sorry bud but they can not beat any big team's thats why they play a weak schedule, it doesnt matter what class your in they still have a week schedule.

If you keep watching Newport, in the next few weeks you will see they will win in there class. Newport is just getting started with the new coaching staff they have a lot of nice athletes to work with this year. Technically Newport had 3 or 4 starters out with injury in this game.

 

Technically Dayton had a kid kicked off the team, a hole buch of sophmores and other people playing, so dont act like Newport was missing people. Plus everyone will keep watching so when they play big teams they can lose.

Technically, or not technically, Newport won the game they should have won. I have a feeling Coach Rice has preached for them to "win the games they're supposed to win." Newport is on the rebound kids, and I like it. Can they beat Newcath and Holy Cross? Probably not both, but I'd say they'll give them a great game. Nick will have these boys where they need to be every year. I love his fire, his attitude, and his commitment for discipline. Best of luck to the Cats and the Devils the rest of the year. Dayton will get their win soon.

Your reply sounds like a classic case of "sour grapes" to me.

Calhoun was injured early in this game I heard a little while ago he may have broke his arm. McDay did a great job filling in for him.

 

Any news on Calhoun, is his arm broke?
