Is the term "we" appropriate?

As far as high school sports goes it is obviously appropriate for all of the stated reasons above. Couldn't agree more.

As far as college and pro ranks, I think some of you might want to examine the whole marketing of those teams before making such drastic statements. Everything about the marketing of college and pro sports programs screams "Come! Be one of us. Buy our stuff. Be one of our team." There fore it is only natural and expected that those "fans" feel an attachment to the team, a "we" feeling if you will. Seems to me a guy said it best in the movie Close Encounters . . . "they were invited."

And what's the harm really? You don't like it just because you don't like it. Just because they didn't play the game? Does that exclude women form being "fans" of all pro sports excluding the WNBA? Geez, lighten up, there's tennis to be played and Golf to be played. You're not from Cleveland are you?

The whole idea of professional and collegiate sports is to identify with the brand. You don't have to be a graduate of or an employee or former player from the place to share that brand identity.

I love UK and WE will go off into the sunset together where peace and prosperity reign and national championship banners are hung with regularity. I love the Bengals and WE will share nothing but pain and agony in our relationship.
