I thought one of the main reasons for the discussion to realign was because of Mercy moving to a new location from the downtown local. I wish it would have happened this year for selfish reasons.

I believe I noticed in the brackets last March that there were 32 or 33 Louisville boys and girls teams.

 

Which would be perfect for the 2 regions to be exclusively Louisville schools.

 

Is any other regions going to change? I had heard a rumor about Harlan Co. going to the 14th region.

Harlan Co. has pretty long trips to play any team outside of the 3 schools in Bell Co. But traditionally Harlan has always been a 13th region school, area, etc. It will be interesting to see if there is any change around the 11th region too.

Anyone heard of any other changes coming when the new realignment comes out?

Yeah, but not all of those schools play boys and girls hoops — and some struggle to even have teams from year-to-year — which would leave you with three-team districts if you put the Bullitt Co. schools in the 5th (where they belong) or back in the 8th (which I always found to be nonsensical, much like Anderson Co's 8th Region membership).

I'm sure that's true, but the Bullitt schools are in a district with Southern and Moore, so that doesn't help with the schools that are inconsistent. Those schools have to have a team.

 

How does the KHSAA plan fix that issue?

Is the actual new alighment to go into affect for the 2010-2011 season? Also does anyone know any other probable changes?
