Class of 2010 girls rankings

Featured Replies

Class of 2010 girls rankings by Jody Demling of the CJ:

With four players already committed to Division I colleges and plenty more prospects getting big-time looks, the girls' Class of 2010 in Kentucky is strong.

And while there's no clear-cut No. 1 player, it's a deep and talented bunch across the state.

I'm going to stick with Christian Academy's Antonia Slaughter (left) at the top for now, but it's close between Slaughter and Nelson County's Samantha Drake (right). Both will get plenty of support for Miss Basketball with Slaughter having helped her team to last year's Sweet 16.

Condrats to these ladies!!!:dancingpa

Glad to see Kendra Brown and Jessica Upchurch, both from Lincoln County (12th region) on the list. Congrats girls - I can't wait for the season to start!

Always glad to see girls get some publicity but Jody really doesn't do a good job with his "rankings".

I think we will see other lists come out and they will be very different from Mr. Demling's list.

Agree, can't believe that Presia Rogers of GRC was left off the list.I am sure there are others too.

I think that Lincoln Co. may have one more in Nikki Bustle probably the best shooter in the 12th region

I can't help but wonder when was the last time Jody actually went to a girls game. :D

Don't forget about the Alexander kid from Rockcastle. Great player if she lets the game come to her. This season will depend on how she plays and gets along with the other teammates. Could be great, could be a disaster!!!!!

State Tournament...maybe?????

I doubt he was at any session but the finals. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've not seen him there the past couple years since the nature of his duties have changed.

He has always missed some very very talented players - seems to listen to all his coaching buddies and not watch for himself. Some of the players that he has listed are very average and are not even near the top players in the state.
