You can't judge the talent of Mayfield's jv and freshman. You would be surprised how many of our freshman and sophomores that doesnt get to play freshman or jv ball because they play varsity.

I believe that LO has the best young talent in the Purchase area as shown by their undefeated Freshman and JV teams last year..I would even be as bold to say that i smell a state ring in the next 3 years......Just sayin' IMO

They better do it in the next 2 years because they won't have a chance in 6A when the county schools consolidate.

From the games played i would agree Marshall not a team of measure... I believe the Marshalls lost to a 1 A school???? Also as a side note LO beat Warren East in 07 to go to the state finals.............W E Raider

Yes, I know...that wasn't my point. My point was that when Lone Oak has played teams of measure, they may have won, but "not by much", thus my point that I didn't think they'd beat Marshall to death.

...but that was based on past knowledge of Marshall and not the fact that they seem to be VERY down this year.

All i know is a W is a W nomatter how many points its by...alot of times teams play down or up depending on the strength of the opponent...so any score is poss.

I agree wholeheartedly with the point that Marshall lost to no ordinary 1A team. Mayfield should be in the hunt for a state title this year. The comment that LO has not beaten any team of measure is the same old bull we've heard the last few years and it isn't accurate. In additon to the Warren and Bullitt schools, LO has beaten Calloway each of the last two years. For all of Calloway's bluster over their fine season last year, the Flash have beat them 3 straight.

Lone Oak should prevail, I just hope they are not looking ahead to next week.

Lone Oak 44

Marshall 13

Lone Oak 49-28.
