Raceland wins this one too much experience. They are well coached.

From what I seen at the game the Rams has alot of work to do.They must learn to tackle and find some corners. It looked like the same corners from the LCA game last year. I think the quarterback needs alot of work Tyler Farley is not ready for the starting role I do not know who is, I am guessing that there is not alot to choose from. From where I was sitting people was talking about Bobby Mckee trying it,and someone said the Rister boy will be throwing this week and should be ready for the Ashland game. All I know is the coaches has alot of work ahead of them.

I just talked to a good friend (long time Ram Fan and knows football)that was there and he said that although you are right in that there is much work to do that there were a couple bright spots. L. Huffman was reported to have had a good showing along with Burchett. This Raceland team imo will be o.k. but still will be a work in progress especially early. J. Barr is out for a while with the leg injury, that is big loss in that he is one heck of a RB and LB. I believe that I was told that Raceland was minus 4 starters in this one.

Also, they treated it as it was meant to be....a practice, trying different players/positions, etc.. Coach Vanderhoof imo is not going to show a whole lot in a grid-o-rama. JMO and GO Rams!!

Raceland used this to work on some things, and try some players that may end up getting some playing time. Overall not a great game. Raceland had some bright spots with Litteral, Burchett, and Huffman. Still plenty of work to do, poor tackling, poor blocking effort, and some poor route running. Things that can and will get better.

 

Troxler didn't get but one or two carries and Kelley didn't play, those two would normally being getting plenty of carries, we will have to see what Troxler has next week.

Who played quarterback for West Carter tonight? I know Harrison Bond was their quarterback when West used the Jumbo formation last season, but I have heard that Josh Ackerman may start as well.

I am pretty sure it was Bond and he played well.

The Rams have alot of work to do, & alot of holes to fill. The Comets deserved to win, but Raceland had alot to do with that with their play. No disrespect to West, but the Rams are green, and the few players who have experience & play-making abilities were out with injuries or for other undisclosed reasons. The players are going to have to realize that anything less than 100% effort on every play will get this team beat. They need to be totally focused on what's going on in the game whether they're on the field or not. Too many guys distracted with other things besides doing their job on the field. Also, this team will have to have some players step up in leadership roles.

 

There are going to be some growing pains, but the coaches know what they're doing, & the players will have to decide if they're going to step up & play as a team, & not as individuals. It's early, so it's not time to hit the panic button just yet.

I forgot to give congrats to West on the good showing you had :thumb:. I hope that you can use this as a positive to build on for a good season.

One report I heard was that West Carter was the "one" team in this scrimmage that wanted to play football.

The first three quarters: West Carter 14 Raceland 7, I really wouldn't put much stock in this though. The one quarter of JV was West Carter 7 Raceland 7.
