Shining Star Sports-McFarland was eliminated in the Elite 8 of the Super Showcase.

It was a heartbreaking loss for Coach McFarland's team.

With the score tied at 53 the team had the ball with a chance to win with seconds on the clock. Chad Jackson drove the bucket for the game winner but missed. The Showtime Ballers rebounded and were pushing the ball up the floor. It did not appear that they were going to get a shot off but an official called a fall 75 feet from the hoop on Coach McFarland's team. Showtime hit 2 free throws and the Showcase run was over.

Coach McFarland's team will open National play on Monday.

Heartbreaker. I say unless there was an unmistakeable foul, you have to let those go into overtime.

The Ice lost 2 heartbreakers in pool play. Had sizable leads in both games but couldn't hang on. Lost by 1 to NC Athletics and lost by 6 to Florida Showstoppers (Assault). Purvis had 4 threes in the first quarter, Dunagan playing really well, Martin leading the team and Barnette filling it up from outside. Ice also have Smith (Scott), Shearer (Wayne Co), Kielsling (HC) and Carpenter (Winchester Christian). Fucci went to Vegas with Indiana Elite One - played some but not tons. Didn't feel well at end of trip and headed back to Lex.

Ice play tomorrow in Classic bracket at 9:55am. They are hoping to make a run to the Championship of that bracket. Memphis Stallions (#1 overall in 08) also in Classic. Lots of coaches and lots of talent. Ice game had 30 coaches from all over the place - watching Purvis, Barnette, Martin and wanted to see Fucci. Fucci has serious interest from Witchita St, Missouri St, Northwestern and Tenn Tech. Other guys have D-1 schools that are chasing them as well.
